The BEL Career Mentoring Program (CMP) will give you the opportunity to connect with UQ’s extensive industry network to help you gain the skills and confidence to navigate your career journey. As a student mentee, you can get the support and confidence that you need to tackle short and long-term goals, navigate challenges and accelerate your growth.


Applications for the Semester 1 2024 program have now closed. Please reapply next semester.

How does the program run?

The program runs each semester (March to July and August to December) and is facilitated by UQ BEL Careers and Employability which supports students and mentors by; pairing you with a mentor, providing you with a point of contact should you have concerns or problems and running a series of information sessions to support you. 

Student Eligibility


To be eligible to participate, you must:
  • Be currently enrolled in a BEL Faculty degree (or have just graduated - you can do CMP in the first 6 months post-graduation)
  • Undergraduates: have completed your first semester
  • Postgraduates: any year of study; and
  • Be prepared to fully commit to the program including attendance at mandatory events.

This program is open to both international and domestic UQ BEL students. If you are overseas, you can still participate in CMP and meet your mentor virtually.

Please note: This program is not an internship, work experience or employment opportunity.
