The Get Set: Dentistry Peer Mentoring Program supports new students in the School of Dentistry through their transition to university, academic adjustment and preparation for placements and careers.

The Dentistry student experience is about more than just academics, it's about building lasting connections and finding the support you need to thrive. The Dentistry Peer Mentoring Program is a collaborative initiative designed to help new students transition smoothly into university life, adjust academically, and prepare for their future careers.

Each new BDSc (Hons) and DMD student will join a small mentoring group led by one or two experienced peer mentors. These mentors are Dentistry students who are committed to guiding, encouraging, and supporting their mentees. When possible, they will facilitate, group catch-ups, both on and off campus, helping new students build connections and navigate their first few weeks with confidence.

New students can choose their mentoring group based on their study program. If no selection is made, students will be matched with a group to ensure the best possible fit for their academic and social needs. This program offers an invaluable opportunity to connect, learn, and grow in a supportive community, setting the foundation for a successful journey in Dentistry
