The University of Queensland aims to develop well-rounded and capable higher degree by research (HDR) graduates who understand their personal strengths and have the graduate attributes necessary to build a successful career and contribute to society. The HDR Career Development Mentoring Program compliments HDR candidates' academic knowledge by providing the opportunity to network, connect, and engage one-on-one with a respected and successful professional. This mentoring partnership enables HDR candidates to receive practical guidance on key aspects of their broad professional and career development.

By engaging with this program, HDR candidates can learn from experienced professionals to:

  • Investigate potential career pathways;
  • Gain exposure to different perspectives and advice; and
  • Discuss topics such as networking, identification and communication of transferable skills, and career development.

The program is facilitated by the Graduate School.
